Tourism 'Barometers'

The following quarterly reports, or Tourism Barometers, for the Wet Tropics rainforests and the Great Barrier Reef, form a series presented by the MTSRF and James Cook University on rainforest and reef tourism in the Wet Tropics and Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Areas. Data presented in the following reports summarise the results of data collection in North Queensland on a quarterly basis since November 2006. Results include visitors’ socio-demographic characteristics and travel behaviour, alternative destinations considered, motivations for travel, holiday planning and potential activities.

RRRCICON New Port Douglas and Daintree Tourism Barometers

Commencing in January 2009, visitor surveys were conducted in the Port Douglas and Daintree region of far northern Queensland.  Results are presented quarterly and include tourists' socio-demographic characteristics, travel behaviour, motivations and planning.  Access and download the Port Douglas and Daintree tourism barometers below.
