List of Grants Led by DSEWPaC/RRRC

The NERP Tropical Ecosystems Hub ('NERP TE'; formerly referred to as the Great Barrier Reef and Torres Strait Hub, or GBRTS Hub) is the largest and most complex of the five Research Hubs funded through the Australian Government's National Environmental Research Program (NERP).

Hub Structure

Dr Peter Doherty (Australian Institute of Marine Science) is the Science Leader for the NERP TE.  The Reef & Rainforest Research Centre (RRRC) has been appointed as the Administrator of the NERP TE.

A Steering Committee comprised of representatives from a wide variety of stakeholders has been formed, chaired by Ms Di Tarte.  Beneath the Steering Committee are three Working Groups representing researchers and stakeholders from the three Research Nodes - Great Barrier Reef, Wet Tropical Rainforests, and Torres Strait - which will be Chaired by Mr Peter McGinnity (GBRMPA), Mr Andrew Maclean (WTMA) and Mr Walter Mackie (TSRA) respectively.

The task of the Working Groups is to assemble research programs within each of the Nodes that address the information needs of stakeholders.  They are being assisted in this process by the Science Leader and RRRC.
